Natasha Shalala

Senior Clinical Psychologist

Natasha Shalala is an accomplished Clinical Psychologist who holds a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) and a Master of Clinical Psychology, both completed at the University of Wollongong. Natasha is registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency and is a Board-Approved Supervisor.

 

With extensive experience in mental health, Natasha has worked with a wide range of concerns, including complex trauma, personality disorders, anxiety, depression, emotion dysregulation, low self-esteem, and self-harm.

 

Natasha provides a tailored, client-centered approach to therapy, working collaboratively with clients to achieve their unique goals. While she is deeply passionate about using a Schema Therapy framework, Natasha also integrates other evidence-based therapies, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). She is currently pursuing Individual Schema Therapy Certification to further enhance her expertise in this area.

Stacey Van Der Meer

Psychologist

Stacey is a warm and compassionate psychologist who works with clients aged 16 and older. She holds a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) from Swinburne University of Technology and a Master of Psychology (Clinical) from the University of Wollongong.

 

Stacey has experience supporting individuals with PTSD, complex PTSD, disordered eating, emotional dysregulation, and anxiety. She has a special interest in working with neurodivergent individuals and trans and gender-diverse clients.

 

Currently pursuing certification in Schema Therapy, Stacey integrates Schema Therapy interventions into her practice and is also trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for PTSD recovery.

Clinical Psychologist & Advanced Schema Therapist/Supervisor

Sheena founded Schema Therapy Wollongong to provide Schema Therapy to clients in the Illawarra who have found short-term treatments ineffective or wish to address enduring and self-defeating patterns.

 

Sheena holds a Master of Clinical Psychology and a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours), both completed at the University of Wollongong.

 

With over 10 years of experience, Sheena has worked with a wide range of mental health concerns. She specializes in treating personality disorders, emotion dysregulation, chronic anxiety, long-term mood disturbances, low self-esteem, and interpersonal challenges. Sheena also has a particular interest in providing therapy to other mental health professionals.

 

In her practice, Sheena integrates a range of evidence-based and trauma-informed therapies, including Schema Therapy (ST), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and other approaches tailored to meet the individual needs of her clients.

 

Sheena is registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency, is a member of the Australian Psychological Society College of Clinical Psychologists, a board-approved supervisor, and a member of the International Society for Schema Therapy.
